Renoir, restored for the way you live

This collection presents selected Pierre-Auguste Renoir paintings prepared from archival source files. Any rights conclusion is limited to the named work, intended sales territory and documented provider file, not the artist's output as a whole. GeMarkt’s archive contains 750+ work records; check the linked Etsy listing for current availability and options. Twelve are below.

A considered place to start

Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette (1876), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette, 1876

A Sunday crowd under the acacias of a Montmartre dance garden. The picture lives in its violet shadows — most circulating files muddy them to grey, and getting that blue back is most of the work.

Luncheon of the Boating Party (1880–81), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Luncheon of the Boating Party, 1880–81

The girl cooing at her terrier is Aline Charigot, who would become Madame Renoir. Every colour on the terrace reflects off that white tablecloth, so the white has to stay truly white — here it does.

Dance at Bougival (1883), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Dance at Bougival, 1883

The dancer in the red bonnet is usually identified as Suzanne Valadon, a painter in her own right. The swirl of the pink skirt needs clean edges to carry at print size — down to the spent matches and the posy dropped on the floor.

Two Sisters (On the Terrace) (1881), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Two Sisters (On the Terrace), 1881

Painted on the same riverside terrace as the Boating Party — and the models were not sisters at all. The basket of wool is the test strip: a dozen saturated balls that clot together in tired copies and separate cleanly here.

A Girl with a Watering Can (1876), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

A Girl with a Watering Can, 1876

A gravel path, a green watering can, and lace painted with unusual patience. The cobalt of the dress slides toward navy in most files; recovered, it is a true daylight blue against the roses.

The Swing (1876), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

The Swing, 1876

Same Montmartre garden, same summer as the Moulin de la Galette. The blotches of sunlight on the path scandalised critics in 1877 — they are the first thing we protect when the picture is brought back.

Six more, in the order he painted them — Montmartre to Cagnes.

La Grenouillère (1869), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

La Grenouillère, 1869

Renoir set his easel next to Monet's at this Seine bathing spot in the summer of 1869, and the pictures they made are where Impressionism is usually said to begin. The water has to keep its silver, not slide into grey.

Pont Neuf, Paris (1872), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Pont Neuf, Paris, 1872

Renoir's brother Edmond stalled passers-by on the bridge with small talk so each figure could be set down before it moved on. A noon picture — if the cream of the pavement cools, the whole day goes with it.

The Theatre Box (La Loge) (1874), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

The Theatre Box (La Loge), 1874

Hung at the very first Impressionist exhibition in 1874. The blacks are the painting — striped satin that must hold its sheen and depth without flattening, which is precisely where ordinary reproductions give up.

The Skiff (La Yole) (1875), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

The Skiff (La Yole), 1875

An orange boat on cobalt water — two complementary colours asked to do all the work. If either one drifts, the picture dies; both hold here, down to the pink reflections of the rower's dress.

By the Seashore (1883), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

By the Seashore, 1883

Painted in the studio after his Guernsey autumn, the coast remembered rather than observed. The face carries his new post-Italy precision while the sea behind stays loose Impressionism — one canvas, both Renoirs.

Young Girls at the Piano (1892), Pierre-Auguste Renoir — restored fine-art print

Young Girls at the Piano, 1892

Commissioned by the French state in 1892, and Renoir rehearsed the scene across several canvases before letting this one go. The interior runs from candle-gold to honey, and keeping those yellows apart is the whole task.

Choosing a format

Rolled poster

The cheapest way in — pick it if you already own a frame or want one chosen for the room, not the shipment.

Framed paper

Arrives ready to hang, glass over paper — the classic museum-print look, and the safest default for most rooms.

Stretched canvas

No glass, no glare — texture close to a painting's, and a natural fit for painterly surfaces.

Framed canvas

The canvas texture with a finished edge — the most furniture-like of the four, and the largest sizes live here.

Prices and available formats vary by listing; Etsy shows the current options and currency for that work. Undecided? Our print format guide compares the four honestly.
