What the number means
Interior guides converge on a range rather than one perfect number. GeMarkt starts inside that range, then lets your actual wall, furniture and chosen artwork shape change the result.
Above furniture, the complete art group begins around two-thirds to three-quarters of the furniture width.
A tall artwork is reduced if the chosen width would crowd the ceiling. Side margins are protected too.
The answer includes the frame and group gaps. Use the printed plan, then tape the outline at full size.
The honest limits
The 67–75% furniture ratio and a centre around 57–60 inches on an open wall are widely used decorating conventions—not scientific standards. The live coverage control is there because a quiet room and a statement wall can need different answers.
Above furniture, the gap above the object takes priority over forcing every centre to one height. The tool also makes no claim about safe fixings, frame weight, heat above fireplaces, hidden pipes or electrical cables.
Exact sizes and materials vary by product and destination. Use this result to choose the nearest live option; the Etsy listing remains the source of truth before payment.

Before the tape goes up
A useful starting range is 67–75% of the sofa’s outer width, measured across the complete artwork or group including frames and gaps. The calculator also checks the available wall height.
Yes. Use the final outside dimensions, including the frame and mat. For a pair or three-piece row, the total also includes the spaces between frames.
No. A centre around 57–60 inches is a useful open-wall starting point. Above furniture, the visual relationship and gap above the furniture normally take priority.
No. It is a scaled planning sheet with a printer calibration line and a tape-test checklist. Fixing position depends on the frame hardware, weight and wall construction.
