Zodiac, 1896
Drawn as a house calendar for his printer, then bought by the review La Plume — this is that state, header and month-grid intact. The twelve sign medallions sit in a grey-blue ring that goes murky in most files; here each one stays legible.

JOB, 1896
The cigarette-paper poster with the swirling hair critics nicknamed 'macaroni'. On the violet ground the gold coils do all the work — recovered clean, they hold their line even at the largest print sizes.

Summer (Été), 1896
The panel that carries his first Seasons set — bare feet in the water, poppies in her hair. Everything depends on the cobalt sky behind her, and most circulating copies have faded it to grey; ours came back deep.

Rêverie, 1897
Made as the printer Champenois's calendar page for 1898, and admired into a decorative panel of its own. The ring of pink blossom against deep teal is the test — cheap files melt it into one rose smear.

Bières de la Meuse, 1897
Poppies, barley and hop vines piled into one improbable crown — a brewery commission treated like a decorative panel. The sky-blue lettering tips toward navy in tired copies; it reads bright here.

Dance, 1898
The one panel of The Arts caught mid-motion, hem and petals still travelling. The set was printed in soft silvers and ochres with almost no true black, so depth lives in small tonal steps — exactly what restoration protects.

Salon des Cent: XXth Exhibition, 1896
His invitation for the print gallery at 31 rue Bonaparte, March 1896 — a veiled girl holding quill and brush as the house muse. Nearly the whole design is one flat gold ink; when a scan drifts it turns khaki. This one didn't.

Monaco · Monte-Carlo, 1897
A railway poster with no train in it: the P.L.M. sold the Riviera as a girl kneeling in spring, ringed by wreaths that curl like carriage wheels. The lilac and coral circles keep their separate colours here.

Pater Noster, 1899
The opening page of Le Pater, his illustrated Lord's Prayer — the book he most wanted to be judged by, shown at the 1900 Paris World's Fair. Its parchment pinks are quiet on purpose; restoring it meant keeping them clean, not loud.

The Evening Star folds into her own drapery as the sky burns down to umber. The whole picture happens in browns a half-step apart, which is why dull copies lose the figure entirely — kept apart, she glows.

The Introduction of the Slavonic Liturgy, 1912
Among the first Slav Epic canvases finished at Zbiroh, painted in tempera at mural scale. The saints hover in blue above a crowd rendered almost without outline — printed wide, those floating figures keep their edges.

Zdeňka Černý, 1913
A Prague-printed poster for the young Czech cellist, shown with her score in hand rather than mid-performance; the world tour it announced was cancelled by the war. The big letter block below is half the design, and it comes back crisp.
