Monaco — Bains de Mer d'Été & d'Hiver
F. Hugo d'Alési · 1896
A coastal panorama, roses and a sunlit terrace frame Monaco in this P.L.M. travel poster. Muted sea blues and bold lettering bring a vintage Riviera mood to your wall. Framed paper shows a narrow light border at 6×8 and 8×10 inches; at 11×14 inches, the frame can cover the tiny outer printer credit.

About this work
Hugo d'Alési painted the principality for the PLM in 1896 and slipped the Thermes Valentia — the marble bath-palace that would be gone by 1908 — into the round inset like a locket. The roses and oranges along the balustrade carry the whole foreground; if they dull, the terrace goes with them.
